User Account Policy

I understand that my access to SEASnet computer systems at UCLA is strictly for school business, course-related activities, or research purposes. Profit-driven use is strictly prohibited. I will not share my SEASnet computer account, software, or any other licensed materials with anyone.

All software distributed by SEASnet or available on SEASnet machines is copyrighted. I will not use SEASnet-distributed software on other computers, nor will I permit others to use or copy this software unless explicitly authorized by the user agreement. I will not store, use, or distribute illegally obtained software on SEASnet machines.

I will not share my account with anyone, and I will NOT disclose my password or account information. I will refrain from executing commands that require elevated privileges unless specifically instructed by SEASnet or my instructor. I will not log in to SEASnet machines from another location using someone else’s account. I will not run any software on SEASnet systems that could compromise security.

I acknowledge that SEASnet may contact me regarding my account, and I will regularly check my designated Official UCLA Email. I agree to adhere to all school and University policies regarding the use of systems and peripheral devices.

I UNDERSTAND THAT FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE CONDITIONS MAY RESULT IN THE PERMANENT LOSS OF MY ACCOUNT AND POSSIBLE FURTHER DISCIPLINARY ACTION BY THE UNIVERSITY. ILLEGAL FILE-SHARING OR UNAUTHORIZED USE OF COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR USE OF COMPUTER SYSTEMS MAY CONSTITUTE A FELONY UNDER SECTION 502 OF THE CALIFORNIA PENAL CODE. VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW. California Penal Code
