There are multiple options available to student groups for communicating with their members:
- Student groups can request event postings or announcements for the SEASnet MOTD; this is the screen that comes up when logging into any SEASnet lab machine. The procedure to request MOTD postings can be found here.
- Student groups can request their departmental Student Affairs Officer or Management Services Officer send out emails to the students in that department. Only official student group business may be sent, and the department has the right to deny requests. Central School units, such as SEASnet and the Office of Academic and Student Affairs, are unable to comply with requests to email student groups.
- Student groups can email to request an email list that they can maintain themselves. The student group’s faculty advisor should be copied on the request, and the SEASnet account of the person who will maintain the list should be provided.
