Instructional Media Room Information

Reserving the room for HSSEAS courses*

Reservations for fall, winter, spring, and summer classes using 3760 BH must be made from the authorized department representative to classroom-request@seas.ucla.edu.  Classes not officially assigned this space for either lecture or discussion section may request space in this room, but priority will always been given to this room in the following order:

  1. officially assigned undergraduate courses
  2. undergraduate courses not assigned this room per department request
  3. if available, officially assigned graduate courses
  4. graduate courses not assigned this room per department request
  5. one time events or meetings

Class time is NOT scheduled in this room for finals automatically. You must make a separate request for use of the room during finals week.

3760 BH is not available from 8am-10am on Monday. One-time use requests can be made. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations are not guaranteed until confirmed by SEASnet.

Once you have received your confirmation, the TA or instructor using the room should contact classroom-request@seas.ucla.edu to setup an appointment (at least one working day prior to the class or event) for instructions on the use of the room and to be given access. The appointment requires that the room be accessible. If you wait until after the quarter or summer session starts, the room may not be available for you to be given instructions.

Requests for use of the room for single events should be sent to classroom-request@seas.ucla.edu. If arrangements have been confirmed for a single event, the individual hosting the event will need to contact SEASnet to ensure that the room will be open for the event.

Neither the scheduling office or SEASnet are responsible for the inability of users to gain access to this room if they have failed to contact SEASnet. This room is locked and alarmed at all times.

Policies concerning the room

  • An instructor or TA must be in the room at all times with the students.
  • TA/Instructors are required to alarm and lock the room at the end of each class (even if another class is scheduled for the room immediately afterwards).
  • TA/Instructors are responsible for ensuring that the projector and lights are turned off.
  • TA/Instructors may not give out the door or alarm code to anyone.
  • Problems with the room (computers down, projector not working, no pens, etc.) should be reported to the SEASnet office or to help@seas.ucla.edu.
  • You may not disconnect any equipment. The projector has been configured to work with laptops through a switch. If you need assistance with the switch please contact classroom-request@seas.ucla.edu.
  • If you will be using your laptop and need network access via a network cable, email classroom-request@seas.ucla.edu at least two days prior to your scheduled time in this room. Make sure you include your laptop's MAC address.
  • If you find any problems with the room when you enter (for example, alarm not set, projector left on, etc.) you must report it to classroom-request@seas.ucla.edu. Otherwise, you may be held responsible for the room's condition.
  • If you need to use the dry erase boards, please bring your own dry erase markers to ensure that you have functional writing tools.
  • As a courtesy to others please erase the white board after each class.
  • No food or drink are allowed in the room in any type of container at anytime by anyone; nor may any events be scheduled where food and drink will be offered.

You are responsible for understanding and abiding by these policies. Failure to follow the policies will result in any future access to the room being denied.

Benefits of using this room

3760 BH is an instructional media room. The instructor PC is wired into the LCD projector and configured exactly as the student machines so that students can follow along with the instructor. In addition, the PC's are configured the same as the PC's in the open student labs so that students can easily duplicate the instructor's lessons.

Miscellaneous

Seating capacity is 28 students, 1 instructor. There is a PC for each seat in the room. Classes exceeding the seating capacity are not allowed as stated under UCLA Policy 870 Section B5: Enrollment Management.

*This lab is only available for engineering courses or one-time events for engineering students.
